R6V2 BLOWS!!!

i think the PSN has kinda gotten around to getting the lagging issues experienced with R6V2. i give them another week before all the bugs are worked out.

kevin - i got the flight helmet last night!!! ha ha ha... shit is phatty!!! i look like a badass now... he he he... getting the hang of killhouse again. ran some matches in there with some british folks... those guys just kept getting sniped. level 13 marksman. ha ha ha... murdertown is phatty!!! i like all the nooks and crannies you can hide in. i switched to the 552 last night. let's just say ownage... ha ha ha....

boyet - did they give you anything special for being an elite in the first one?

was running on streets last night... i love the streets....you could climb on the roof of the 2 side buildings.. was owning people with the m468 mind you i was not getting kills above 10 but my kill ratio on the last game i played was 1.5 and the last game i played before i was lagged out i was prolly above 10 because people just couldn't take me off the porch on the streets.. just like the good ol VnM days ha ha... the guy i think who was prolly getting frsutrated with me was this guy name IMA_HOU_boy cuz he kept throwing grenades and was wondering why i wasn't dying.. and then he'd go underground.. and the only reason he killed me was cuz i was reloading ha ha i have to stop doing that actually... reloading after every shot...then i kept killing him.. he had a direct shot.. but he was taking his time.. he tried the side to side.. and i was like i can do that too.. he he.. just wished i wasn't logged off.. i wonder what that guys was saying since my mic is on the fritz but i think i got it fixed...

all in all i miss the 360 days.. but am still liking the R6V2 on the ps3... also getting used to the controls again.. i just wish UBI fixes the multi on it already.. i'm kinda getting sick of the fact that i keep not being able to log on to certain lobbies..

i do miss casino vault though and the calypso

the M468 is the bomb.. i like it better than the g36c.. it's more powerful...but the 552 comes in a real close second that's what i use in story mode he he...now i just switched to a m468..

has anyone noticed that guns aren't like COD4 .. there's really not that much recoil on it.. or is it because i got mine silenced?

to answer your previous question Pillius..........i did get serious freggin lag the day Vegas 2 came out (it was pretty bad), but then after that i've only had minor lag issues, and no issues at all with being dropped from online matches. i think boyet should be getting down to Vegas for some action very soon. Boyet and Buko were the only "elites" out of all of us, and now with Buko on the ps3.......that makes Boyet the sole "elite" player out of our 360 barcada. So i am also curious whether he was able to unlock anything additional for being an elite with this edition. So, Boyet.....please let us know when you finally play the game. you gonna be on tonight?? actually, if you are....i should log on some serious time tonight because i called out of work for tonight.....so that means Kim will also be home (to watch Ry Ry)....and you know what that means????.........UNINTERRUPTED action on Vegas 2!!! to tell you the truth, i've been logging on more playtime on the story mode and T-hunts for 2 reasons: 1. Boyet, LLCool, and Bleatch 2 have yet to play the game. 2. I figured i may as well try to unlock alot of shizzat while i wait for those guys to come on (via T hunts). i'm telling you man, it is too easy unlocking stuff on T hunts or the story mode. for example, on the story/terrorist mode, every time your AI teammate kills a terrorist....those points count towards your "EXP" points bank. i think Sepulcher has been doing the same thing....i've noticed that he's been playing more of the story/terrorist mode as well waiting for the other guys to join in. i've played with him several times and he has asked me about everyone else. but in the end, its all about the multiplayer online.....which is why i can't wait till Boyet, LL, and Bleatch jump in on the action!!!

by the way, you're also right about the guns not being like COD4 Pillius. i have to remind myself not to zoom in because its much more accurate to shoot from the hip on Vegas 2 as opposed to COD4. on COD4, if you dont zoom in when you take a shot, you are pretty much dead!!!

i agree, the guns in R6V2 are much less bouncier than the COD4 guns. i still use the scope on R6V2, to get the marksman points. ergo i load up on the marksman points which destroys my CQB and Assault points.

kevin - the rooftops on streets are key. whoever controls both rooftops pretty much has the whole level on streets. alpha side definitely has an advantage on getting to the rooftops...

russ - yes, i noticed the scoring system as well regarding team kills on story or t-hunt. pretty nice...

the PS3 version of the game is pretty close to what the experience was like on XBL. pretty happy about that. although, it's not as smooth as the XBL, it's light years with regards to how games are usually set up on the PSN.

on another note, i keep getting messages from the people i ran with on COD4 telling me to come back. ha ha ha... not when R6V2 is here. ha ha ha...

for the 360ers - run team deatmatch on murdertown. that map is huge and fun as hell!!!

one thing i did notice on the new maps, it's hard to spawn camp. there's too many ways to get out... so far, i've only found chokepoints on 1 of the new maps. on import/export (i think that's what it's called), there's really only one way to get from one side to the other. a la dantes. that is one thing i miss from running with the VnM clan, we got to explore the maps by ourselves so we got used to it so we weren't running around like chickens with no heads once we joined public matches. ah well...

t - kenny got hot shots golf OOB. he said it's GOOOOOODDDDD!! so i might pick it up this week. he he he...

Nice Buko.......honestly, i havent been playing too much of multiplayer online yet to have an opinion on the maps. i did play Murdertown though......tis nice!! still though, nothing beats Casino Vault....the all-out frag fest map with choke-points galore!! hehehehe!!! they gots to bring that shiz to Vegas 2....."Casino Vault Redux" baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

kuya- they tried to take control of the top.. but they took too long to scope me out before so i was able to shoot them off the roofs ha ha... i took control of the roof myself and i was taking them out but it's boring up there it's just a waiting game.. so i did the tried and true...porch camping ha ha.. if they think i'm on the right side.. i go to the left so they start shooting the right and i shoot them while they are against the wall ha ha...then i switch again.. it's too much fun.. there are choke points in streets.. but you just gotta be good to choke them there ha ha

as far as the story mode.. i quite agree russ.. the story line seems alot easier this time around...but am also not playing realistic.

as far as hot shots is concerned...kenny says there's an advanced way of swinging the club which is all about timing.. it's actually crazy i saw it and i was like what??? but it looks fun..especially the multi... now i am up in the air about getting hotshots or just waiting for gta4...it's got multi player on it with 16 games to play

dude, if i were you Kev......i'd wait for GTA4. i mean if you've got the money for both games that would be ideal......but if you had to choose between the two, i'd go with GTA4. but thats just me.

i know russ.. i did enjoy san andreas.. and in this they said you call the cops on urself and when you do.. you cna kick their butts and take their cars and find where ur targets are ha ha... that's kind of fun..

never could get into the GTA series. it got too repetitive at some point... but it's your choice...

personally i would go for the hot shots. it's addicting and with kenny, probably t and probably mikey getting in on the action soon, there'll be some trash talking to be done on the PSN...

finally had some pretty good sessions last night. was playing the streets (just so i can get used to it again) with some new folks i met last night. pretty cool... game sessions don't lag too much now and i actually was able to finish about 5 matches. think they're pretty much getting around to fixing the server issues.

also, there was a PS3 system update last night. it will now let you play DiVX movies up to 2 Gb big.

kevin - marksman level 17, CQB level 15, assault level 6. he he he... getting used to throwing frags again. woo hoo... i switched off my flight helmet for the lightweight helmet... my guy looks dope!!!

oh and i finally figured out how to put the damn HUD on. HA! i'm such a moron... i've been playing that damn game without a HUD until last night.

just some thoughts:
theater - pretty simple and small. remember the theater mission from R6V? it's exactly that way...
import/export - if you want a fast match where you could be shot from anywhere, this is the map. it's a spawn campers delight...
cqb training - big map. lotsa places to hide and snipe from. also good for wandering around since the map is so big, players are spread out.
villa - pretty good. map is laid out in 3 floors. fun and action packed. pretty small spaces so shotties definitely have an advantage...
streets - same as before except for the roofs on the 2 side buildings. whoever controls the skies has a definite advantage.
killhouse - this is the redux version of the map. same as before. lighting is a bit different though.
oil refinery - have not played it.
murdertown - much like cqb training except a little smaller. only played it once.
three kingdoms casino - this map is huge!!! it's pretty much red lotus meets campus for this map. simple layout, it's just huge!!!!

i think those are all the maps so far... not sure if i missed one. if i did, it's probably because i haven't played it.

marc we are at the same rank, man. but didnt you unlock the flight helmet from the very get-go?? that was one of the things that i unlocked being a Rainbow 6 Vegas 1 "veteran". you should see my character......i have the flight helmet on, with that black eye protector it comes with, and a balaclava!!! so my characters head is essentially black, including his face......pitch black. tis nice meng.

nope, not a thing for me being that i am not a veteran on the PS3.

not sure what my rank is at the moment. some sort of sargeant. i have about 27000 XP. so it's the "3 bent bars with the single curved bar at the bottom" as my badge. next level up is 30000 XP for me. he he he...

yeh Buko, we're at the same level. anyways, gots to head to the gym...... any really good games on the horizon for the PS3 or 360????

as far as good games, GT5 Prologue is out for the PS3. $40. it's not the full Gran Turismo though. that won't come out until june.

the PS3 game i'm looking forward to is Final Fantasy XIII. that won't be coming out until October. so that gives me plenty of time to get to Elite status on R6V2. R6V took me about 7 months to get elite... he he he... so that's about the right time. he he he...

not sure if GTA IV is coming to the 360. but kevin's looking forward to that. wonder how they're gonna work in the 16 player multi-player function.

damn, 7 months to reach elite on Vegas1!!! thats freggin long...and you and boyet were playing that game religiously!!! when compared to leveling up on COD4........r6V takes a ridiculously long amount of time!! i think thats why i gave up trying with only 3 bars left.....it came to a point that it was just too long to do, and i just didnt care anymore!! in short, i very highly doubt that i'll reach elite status with this iteration of Vegas.... because i seriously dont see myself playing this everyday for the next 8-10 months, which is how long it would take to make elite!!!! but more power to you guys who will do it!!!

yep yep... i'm a true R6V fanatic. i loved the first one and since they didn't really make any changes to the second installment, i aim to play this until FFXIII comes out. ha ha ha!!! although i will play hotshots golf every so often. but it will be R6V2 loaded on my machine for a while. he he he...

in previous postings, he said that as soon as the 360ers get sick of R6V2, he might jump onto the PS3 version of the game so he can run with me. knowing that i'll probably be religiously playing R6V2 until R6V3 comes out. ha ha ha...

so you 360ers who abandoned R6V after a couple months, it was just basically me and boyet trying to achieve the rank of elite and played that game pretty much everytime we turned the 360 on for about 8 months. so knowing that the 360ers R6V2 interest level for R6V2 will probably die down after 4 months, he might get the PS3 version of the game to continue the fight on the PS3 with yours truly.

not until the patch comes out anyway since it's nearly impossible to get online on the ps3 .. and as far as i heard.. ubisoft never really patched up the first one.. so who knows... we shall see.. i give them a month..
